It is common for NATO and many UK Government organisations to have similar installations of Cornet MTX 256 and MTX-L Matrix switching equipment. The first line maintenance of the equipment has traditionally been contracted out to Prime Contractors under the UK Government’s current policy on outsourcing and PFI initiatives or managed by armed forces services personnel.
Cornet Switching Systems recognised that, due to varying shift patterns, operational requirements and the large number of personnel, an alternative training programme may help to overcome the challenges that this presented.
The solution proposed by Cornet Switching Systems was a rolling programme of training courses throughout the year. Personnel from various branches and organisations attend the training courses to ensure skill levels are kept up to date and the sessions also encourage a degree of interaction between the user groups.
The training courses which are hosted at Cornet Switching Systems dedicated facility in Droitwich and continue to be used by Serco, Paradigm Services, VT Group, NATO, DE&A and other individual Government departments.
Cornet Switching Systems also offer these organisations a range of 2nd level support packages to augment their own on site arrangements.
